Quatsino (wikipedia link)
First settled in the late 1890's, Quatsino is one of the Northern Vancouver Island's earliest settlements.
At one time, when all travel was by boat, Quatsino was the hub of the area. Today the hamblet of around 75 people enjoys the beauty and pristine beauty of the "wilderness side" of Vancouver Island. Located about 15 minutes by boat from Coal Harbour, the community has it's own elementary school and post office. There are several special places to visit locally as well.
Most residents of Quatsino are employeed in the forest, fishing, and eco-tourism industries. Some professionals also live there and practice their professions via the internet. We invite you to explore this site and discover more about this very special community.
